This week is Road Safety Week. There is an optional homework challenge for Room 24 students to complete this week.

You can draw, use paint, use the computer or anything you like to be as creative as you can! Bring in your poster by this Friday the 20th.

House Hero Portraits

This week we each drew a portrait of our house hero. First we found an image using Google that we wanted to copy. We looked at the detail in our hero's face and tried to copy it as accurately as possible.

Kiwisport

This term we are lucky to be doing kiwisport with Nick every week. Today was our first session. We learnt how to look for space and then we worked on our balance.

Seesaw

This year we're going to use a new tool called Seesaw to share what we're learning in class. Your child will have his or her own learning journal, and you can get notified when your child adds new items. It's completely private -- only you can see your child's journal outside of class.

Cross Country

Well done Room 24! You all managed to cross the finish line. We even had a number of top ten placings. So a special well done to Trinity, Lilia, Mia, Vansh, Ahmed and Charlie.

Mud Run 2016

Cross Country

Tomorrow is cross country! Today we walked around the course so we know where to go.
As a class we set a goal. Every person in Room 24 will participate in cross country and finish the race.
We are running at 1:10.

Assembly

Our certificate recipients from whole school assembly last week. Well done boys!

Crazy Hair Day!

What a crazy bunch of students we had in Room 24 today. There were some very unique hairstyles!

Art Club

Some of our students have been attending art with Mrs Reed on a Friday lunchtime. Today Lorin built and painted a robot with Lucas from Year 3.

Fruit Stickers

This year Arahoe is participating in the Yummy School Sticker Promo. If we collect enough stickers we can earn some brand new sports gear for our school. Here's how you can help:

Shop at your local New World, Pak’n Save and participating Four Square stores. Purchase Yummy apples, either bags with cut-out labels or individual apples with Yummy stickers. One cut-out label is worth 10 apple stickers. Bring the stickers into class and place the Yummy stickers on Sticker Collection Sheets and the cut-out labels on Cut-Out Label Collection Sheets.

Well done to Nakhul, Vansh, Lorin and Mia who have already brought in some stickers.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent-Teacher Interviews are happening next week on Monday and Wednesday. If you would like to book a time to meet with me, this can be done through the Arahoe website.

Sumdog Champion

The Room 24 Sumdog Champion is not decided by who has answered the most questions... but who has answered the most questions CORRECTLY. Try to overtake the current champ by playing Sumdog at home as well.

Friction

Our science topic for the next few weeks is friction. Today we brainstormed everything that we already know about friction, then we did a short experiment on different surfaces.

Storytime

Today we had some special visitors from New Lynn library come and do Storytime with us in the library. We learnt how we can get our own library card from the library. Ask your child if you are interested in doing this.
