Secret Santa

Yes Room 24 have decided that we want to do a Secret Santa. The children have all drawn a name and should know who they are buying for. Please bring in a wrapped $5 present and place it on the topic table. Remember to write the person's name on the present!

Puppet Show

Thanks for the cool puppet shows Room 1! We liked the music, the theatres and the puppets that you had made. We also enjoyed the popcorn!

Art Gallery Trip

We really enjoyed our trip to the Art Gallery on Thursday. We learnt a lot about patterns and shapes and the story of Rama.

The Art Gallery is free for Auckland residents and would be a great place for families to visit perhaps during the holidays. Your child would love to share their learning with you.

Ara Teina All Star Day

On Thursday 3^rd December Ara Teina will be hosting an Athletics Day. This will be held on Arahoe School grounds.

Students are required to wear clothes for participating in athletic activities.

• Packed lunch
• Water bottle

The Arahoe Community Group will be selling ice-blocks in the hall at lunchtime for $2.

We require parent help on the day to assist in the running of an event. If you are able to help out from 9am – 2pm please talk to your child's class teacher.

Diwali

Thank you to Kerisha and her mum for helping us celebrate Diwali. We made diyas and were able to decorate them with all sorts of materials.

Peace Day

Wednesday 11 November marks the Hindu Festival of Diwali and First World War Armistice Day.  

To mark the event Arahoe will be hosting a “Peace Day”.

We encourage all students to come to school on Peace Day in national dress and/or traditional ethnic clothes.

Each student will be gifted a battery operated candle/diya.

An Arahoe commemorative event will take place from 10:30am-12pm, on the front courts, in front of NZ flag. We welcome members of the Arahoe School community, friends and whanau to join us.

Buddy Class

Today Room 1 performed a sasa for us. They have been working really hard on this and we thought they did such a good job! Thanks for sharing Room 1.

Swimming

Swimming for Term 4 will kick off next week. Our swimming time is Tuesday afternoon (2-2:40) each week. Please send your child to school with togs and towel no matter what the weather is like, in case it becomes fine for the afternoon. Ensure all uniforms and clothes are named.

Spring Fair

A huge thank you to all the parents who have offered to help out with Spring Fair one way or another. Your assistance is very much appreciated! A few more ways you could help out...

• Raffle - we will be raffling off a horse-riding lesson. If you have something that you would like to donate to also raffle, let me know or contact Kelly.
• Baking - we are making horse shaped cookies to sell on the day. If you would like to contribute some horse-themed baking to sell that would be appreciated. 
• Bubbles - we would also like to have the opportunity for people to try blowing some mega-bubbles. These are really impressive and so much fun - we just need bubble mix. This is the brand of bubble mix that works best. It can be bought from The Warehouse for $12.99 a bottle. You could buy a bottle to donate, or send in money towards some.
