Kazoo

Our instrument of the week is the kazoo. You need to hum into it to make a noise. It's pretty hard to do but here's someone that picked it up really quickly. Can you recognise the song?

Homework Challenge

This week is Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week. Today we looked at the types of litter found around our school and what we can do to keep our environment clean and tidy.

An extra homework challenge this week is to create a poster showing people how they can help keep NZ beautiful. It needs to
- have a title
- have a picture
- be colourful

Bring finished posters in by Friday.

Chocolate!

This week Louis arrived back from Costa Rica and brought us a bar of chocolate. Louis learnt how to make chocolate and explained the process to us. We even got to see a real cacao bean. Finally we got to eat some real Costa Rican chocolate! It was delicious - Thanks Louis

Music

Today in maths we learnt how to make patterns in music and how we can write these down. In groups we chose a symbol to represent each sound e.g. circle is stomp and then put our rhythms together.

Pyjama Day

Maths

The circles and the squares have been learning to solve division problems by sharing equal groups. Everyone chose different materials to help them figure out the answers. We enjoyed hearing other people share how they solved it and compared the different strategies.
