Poems
We have been writing poems about school by using our 5 senses and lots of describing words. Our published poems were so good that we put them in a book to go in our library corner. Come check them out! Here are some of our favourites.
Buddy Class
Today Room 1 helped us learn some new library skills like using the computers to find a specific book.

Maths
This week we have been learning about probability and how likely something is to happen. We used the words impossible, unlikely, even chance, likely and certain.
We guessed how likely it would be to hear certain sounds around the school such as a fire engine, a bird or an elephant.
After walking around the school we gathered our data and presented it using a graph or tally chart.

Homework
Kia ora Parents and Whanau,
Welcome back to Term 3 and a special welcome to our new classmates - Ivo, Lorin, Rafa and Yashvi.
Just a quick reminder of homework expectations.

Spelling: Words are tested on Fridays. There are 5 words each week and these are glued in the back of homework books. Please practise these at home.
Also choose some words from the Essential Lists to practise each week. Each child has their own list of words they need to learn. If you would like another copy of this, just ask.
Maths: Basic facts homework sheets can be found on the link at the side of the blog or click here. Aim to complete one of these each week.
Reading: Children read with me twice a week. They will also take home 1-2 choosing books per day. Library books will go home on Tuesday and poem books on Friday. Please make sure that you track reading in homework books.
